Steeped in history, our stunningly restored Grade 1 country house is nestled in unspoilt Grade 2 listed parkland and acres of peaceful Sussex woodland and countryside.

Built in 1722  for the Pelham Family, who owned it until 1947, and set in Stanmer Park – the City’s largest park – it’s the perfect venue for all seasons.

Now part of the Proud Group, Proud Country House has been recently restored and sensitively modernised, with a large private garden and marquee; a unique venue just a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the City of Brighton and Hove.

NOW OPEN – Source at Stanmer, a new classic dining experience using fresh ingredients from within a twenty mile radius.

The House and Parkland are well served by bus (route 78) and train (Falmer Station), with ample customer parking on site.

Proud Country House can be hired for corporate events,

private celebrations and promoter events and festivals.

Our versatile house, gardens and marquee can be hired

separately or as a whole.

We can accommodate private parties for as few as 10 guests,

right through to activities involving up to 800 people.

A new classic dining experience set in our newly restored country house.

Our new ‘farm to fork’ seasonal menu uses meats, fish and fresh produce sourced from within 20-miles; simply and beautifully cooked and served at a price that is fair for everyone from producer to guest.

Lunch served 7 days a week, dinner served Friday and Saturday. We also offer an informal Grazing Source menu, glorious Afternoon Tea and a traditional Sunday Carvery.
