From a relaxing post-walk coffee and cake, to a very special classic dining experience in the stunningly restored formal rooms of the 18th Century mansion, our beautifully-cooked food is served at a price that is fair for everyone from producer to guest.
Guests can now enjoy our new restaurant ‘Source’, a ‘farm to fork’ concept which takes advantage of the wonderful array of quality, locally-sourced meats, fish and freshly-grown produce – all from within a twenty mile radius of the House.
Serving a seasonal , British menu, Source combines wonderful local produce with an unbeatable ambiance – a newly restored Grade 1 listed country house dating back to 1722, set in acres of unspoilt parkland and Sussex countryside; a peaceful and stylish experience just a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the City.

Lunch at Source is on Saturday and Sunday from 12noon; Dinner at Source is available from 6pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. We recommend that you book for Lunch or Dinner at Source. We also offer an informal ‘Grazing’ menu, which can be enjoyed in the Library every day from 12 – 4. No need to book, but if you’re a large group we do advise you reserve a table.
We serve our glorious Afternoon Tea at weekends, and on Sunday our traditional Carvery – with bottomless vegetables, gravy and Yorkies – is a great way to round of the week. (every Sunday from 12noon served in the heated marquee – dog’s welcome).
Everything is freshly prepared – under the direction of Head Chef James Mitchell – and we can cater for all dietary requirements and allergies (please inform us when you book).

Enjoy a beautiful, traditional Afternoon Tea – served every Weekend from 3pm – 5pm. Hand made fresh sandwiches, home made cakes and the perfect, freshly baked and served warm scones – cream then jam, or the other way around? You choose. Booking is essential.
Set in acres of unspoilt Sussex Countryside, why not enjoy a gentle stroll through the Grade 2 listed parkland before you enjoy our glorious afternoon tea?
Using locally-sourced fresh meats, fish and produce, our Grazing menu is an informal alternative to Source Lunch or Dinner. Served in the Library and bar, Graze is the perfect way to unwind – great for business lunches or a pre or post walk nibble – warm yourselves up by a roaring fire when it’s a bit chilly outside (but leave your boots at the door!)
Between 12 – 3pm, the house is reserved for people wishing to eat; teas and coffees served in the Marquee, where well behaved dogs are always welcome.
Every Sunday, enjoy a hearty, traditional roast lunch in our heated marquee. Served from 12noon (til it’s gone!), our meats are sourced from within a twenty mile radius of Stanmer and you can help yourself to bottomless vegetables, potatoes, Yorkies and gravy.
No need to book (but groups of 6 or more can book a table in advance); well behaved dogs welcome. We also have a lovely outdoor children’s play area – complete with Wendy House – and private gardens to enjoy at your leisure.
Enjoy an after lunch or after dinner drink in our beautifully restored, comfortable Library, Cocktail Bar or Grand Lobby. The crackling of a hearty fire, comfy sofas, classic Grade 1 listed features – this relaxed setting will make you feel right at home. Serving a wide choice of wines, beers, sprits, cocktails and non alcoholic alternatives, this is a place you will want to enjoy time and time again.
