The Bard By Bus – A new theatrical experience, in a perfect setting for the Brighton community.

Just 150 tickets per performance available and 5 performances from 29th July to 2nd August.

The idea behind producing a Midsummer Night’s Dream was never simply to perform it in front of an audience but to create a whole experience for everyone in Brighton to enjoy. We were delighted to team up with Stanmer House who have fully embraced the idea of bringing one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays to their stunning grounds.

We are keen for this production to by accessible to as many people as possible. This includes families, businesses big and small; those who love theatre, those who aren’t sure; those who love Stanmer House and its gardens and those who may not have had the opportunity to see it yet.

Stanmer is a fantastic venue for an evening out, although not as easily accessible for those who may not wish to drive or maybe don’t fancy the walk from the bus stop. Therefore we intend to provide bus transport to from Brighton to Stanmer. We feel that this is key a truly successful night for our audience. Brighton’s very own Big Lemon Bus Company have been more than happy to provide us with a quote to service the event.

The grounds will be open from 6.30, ideal for a picnic and a Pimms at the bar. The evening’s performance begins at 7:45. In a further effort to promote accessibility, we have lovingly abridged the play. It runs at approximately an hour and ten minutes. We have packed it full of songs, live music, comedy, memorable performances and more than a pinch of magic! With such a mixed bag of delights we are confident that there is something for everyone in our production whether a seasoned theatre goer or someone who just wants to have an amazing night out in stunning location.

Sponsored by Big Lemon Buses, you can jump on a bus at either The Old Steine, Lewes Road Bus Depot (Vogue Gyratory) or Brighton Station and be dropped off at Stanmer House, with a return bus to take you back after the performance. Buses run at 1810, 1830 and 1900 and return buses are at 2100, 2130 and 2200. Please select your bus times when booking your ticket, and you’re welcome to come by car – we have a large customer car park next the House)
